Prince of Persia Classic Review

Prince of Persia Classic Review icon

Prince of Persia. Most players know the name well. The 1989 classic Jordan Mechner had no small amount of influence on a number of other adventure-themed platformers that followed, and it still holds up today. Even with the more recent trilogy (and subsequent one-offs) with no small amount of success, there's just something about the original that is timeless. Classic, even. Dressing like the more modern games do not change it to look.

Just as he has the first game, the badguy locked away with Bart Prince. And in the face of the princess with an ultimatum. The players have an hour to work their way through a lane of levels full of death traps, hostile, crumbling platforms, and much more unhealthy things. A glowing butterfly helps to highlight the right path, but a little exploration should be encouraged because they can sometimes give health-enhancing potions and healing items are.
